Teardown: Xiaomi 10,000 mAh 45 W Magnetic Power Bank — CPW3261 PD Controller, SC8723 Buck-Boost, WB8128 Wireless

2026-10-27 Ā· Compiled by Best IT Parts from public industry reporting

Xiaomi has moved its 10,000 mAh magnetic power bank onto the mandatory GB 47372-2026 standard; a teardown of the certified version, model WPB1026S, shows how the power path is partitioned. The unit keeps an aluminium unibody around two ATL 436678B cells in a 2S arrangement, 4850 mAh each at 3.79 V and 18.39 Wh per cell, for a 36.77 Wh (7.58 V) pack rating. Measured size is 102.05 x 70.56 x 13.21 mm at 195.4 g, with a single bidirectional USB-C port rated 45 W wired and a 20 W magnetic coil.

On the bench the port negotiates 5 V/3 A, 9 V/3 A, 11 V/4.1 A, 12 V/3 A, 15 V/3 A and 20 V/2.25 A fixed PDOs plus a 5–11 V/4.1 A PPS range, and charges a phone at 15.08 V, 2.98 A, 44.86 W. Protocols read as QC3.0, FCP, SCP, AFC, PD3.2 with PPS, QC4+, DCP and Apple 2.4 A. Wireless output steps through 5, 7.5, 15 and 20 W, with 15 W available when wired and wireless run together.

The board is split into two PCBA sections joined by an FPC. The top board carries a Chipsea CPW3261 USB-C and USB PD controller with a 32-bit core at 48 MHz, 128 KB flash and 24 KB SRAM, plus BC1.2 and vendor fast-charge protocols. Switching uses two Prisemi PPM8PN02R8 PMOS VBUS devices (-20 V, 5.6 mΩ, PDFN3333-8L) and four PSM8PN03R4 NMOS buck-boost devices (30 V, 4.3 mΩ).

The bottom board holds a Southchip SC8723 four-switch synchronous buck-boost running 2.7–22 V in and 3–22 V out at up to 3.5 A in QFN22, alongside a 25 V/100 µF solid output capacitor and the wireless section: a CPS WB8128 30 W Qi transmitter supporting Qi2.2 and MPP (3.3–24 V input, QFN31, rated -40 to 105 °C) paired with a CPS1010 authentication chip carrying SHA256 and ECC. An NTC thermistor sits on the coil, and a shielding FPC limits emissions.
